That week that was!

The Last 7 days would have been a complete feast for the media. Starting from the presidential elections to the further global financial meltdown to the Marathi Manoos to the Saffron terrorism to Jumbo’s sudden retirement, it’s been nonstop action around the world.

Now here’s the top 5 news items that caught my attention.

5. Kollywood’s one day Fast!
When you have the entire Kollywood’s actors on stage for a fast it’s definitely difficult to ignore. As usual the highlight of the show was Rajni, Kamal and Satyaraj.
The surprise packets were Mansoor Ali Khan & Radha Ravi. Both reveled in what they are known for, unintended fun. Btw, SJ Suryah’s lateral thinking on issue made sure there were few eggs ( I mean literally) on his face by the end of the show.

4. Marathi Manoo’s
What started as a single person’s attempt to gain political mileage has indeed started taking very very ugly scenes. The last week has showed how hatred has been already sowed in the minds of people when a Bihari guy was shot by the Maharastrian police after he took few bus passengers as hostage. After watching Praful Patel ‘s(NCP leader & Civil aviation minister) interview with KT in devil’s advocate I feel the Devil is yet to come in full.

3. Global financial meltdown
It was really funny to see Mr.Brown (UK premier) literally begging to the OPEC & China to provide more money to the IMF inorder to save the sagging economies around the world. Well, never knew the world would revolve in this way.

2. Jumbo’s Journey
It was definitely the shocker of the week. Everyone knew it’s going to happen, but definitely not this Sunday. He is going to be missed big time. He definitely deserves a separate post. To me, Kumble is almost on par with Sachin in terms of contribution to Indian cricket. Truly a Legend!

1. Barrack - Hamilton
This week two people took world by storm. They are quite similar in lot of things even though they belong to vastly different fields. The first thing that comes to everyone’s mind is they belong to the oppressed colour. But they have done something extra –ordinary to make sure that they are not remembered for their color alone. One is on the verge of becoming the 1st Afro-american US president and the other has already become the youngest F1 champion. We can surely expect more fireworks from both of them in the coming years. As far now, lets cherish the domination of these two over the world in their respective fields.
