Good Boy - Bad girl

A few days back I came across a blog talking about the good and mature guys falling for the not so good girl ( I hate the word BITCH, so iam not going to say that anywhere! J ) . For long we have heard how the fit for nothing rogues hanging out with the most perfect girls in the neighbourhood, but now time has caught up the girls too. They are getting their light under the sun.

Now, Iam not going to take sides. To me, both are equally good and bad. Its not that only girls are always choosy in picking their guys even guys are choosy. But when we do a comparison we would find that guys fall easily for a girl. The man reason for that is due to the lack of choices. We guys don’t get a choice of picking the best of the lot unless we are either Hrithik or Ambani. So when a girl gives the mildest look at a guy, he has no other option but to fall at her feet (I have seen atleast 3 such cases in the last year or so) .

When a girl chooses a girl there would be atleast 10 criteria’s running on her mind but when a girl is on the verge of choosing a girl we can be 100% sure that he is OUT OF MIND( No offence meant). Its not that the guys are so desperate but its something which every guy would never like to give a miss.

Now, there was this guy who looks as good as any young south Indian hero. He was rich, I mean so rich that whenever he goes out for dinner with friends he ends up paying the bill irrespective of the number of girls. He was decent enough in studies to get masters and is currently living in US. He met this girl who was his junior in a college bus. Accidentally he sat next to her and they had a conversation. She was a very ordinarily looking girl from a middle class family. According to many of her classmates, she was a real show off and had tons of attitude. Just one thing made the guy fall for her. And you would laugh if you come to know what made the guy for her. They shared the same birth day and that’s the weirdest reason one can get for falling in love.

I have been trying to find one true, sincere couple for the last decade or so but in vain. At this monetary age, there is only one true love that exists. It’s the motherly love!!

P.S : Iam not a crusader against lovers as such its just that I could see any honesty/sincerity in today’s lovers.

D for Deepavali!!

The D day!

Festivals always bring in some vibrant energy to people. At a time when the world has been facing the global recession, the inflation, price rise, terrorism, global warming and many day to day issues, only festivals like these bring some cheers to the saddened soul.

The very thought of celebrating a festival with your family and friends would make you smile and that’s the power of these festivals and these do still remind us of lot of values in life which we forget on a normal day.

Now here are the TOP 5 remembrances for the next Gen of the D Day!

  1. One day holiday
  2. Meet old friends & Relatives
  3. Reason to buy new dresses / gadgets
  4. Watch all the new cinema releases & TV programs
  5. Eat lot of sweets

This is how most of our generation celebrates Deepavali. Iam sure many of the teens wouldn’t even know the reason why Deepavali is celebrated. Sometimes I just wonder should we stop following all these western ways of living. Whatever I do have a strong belief that soon there would be strong desire to search and follow the Indian traditions and values because of the simple reason that the west has just started to do that.

I wish everyone a very Happy and prosperous Diwali. Let this festival of light bring all the light you needed in your life.

The Gaming Solution for Eelam!

I just couldn’t keep myself away from writing this one about the eelam Tamils. Before I go any further here is a self declaration. Iam just an ordinary tamilian in Tamilnadu with no real political /power ambitions and Iam not a complete follower of what’s happening in SL. My knowledge is very much equivalent to that of a average Chennai resident.

Whenever there is some sort of war in SL, we can see the following faces in the media more frequently. Nedumaran, Vaiko, Tiruma, Ramadoss & S.Swamy. While the 1st four make powerful noises about tamil veeram and gauvravam, the latter at the same time would provide unintended humour giving the double V’s (Vadivelu & Vivek) a run for money.
Till a couple of years I never felt that the people in Eelam (read Tamils) are someone very close to me. But off late its changing a bit due to the wide media coverage and I should definitely mention our film fraternity’s contribution in the same. After interacting with some of the Eelam Tamils across the world through online forums and channels I did come to know the various issues they had faced in SL. Though Iam sympathetic to their issues I really don’t know how much can India really do in this considering the FACT that its still an internal issue (just like our very own Kashmir).

There is a very old saying that all that’s not fair in love and war and I feel that’s what’s happening right now in SL. I don’t want to play the blame game here, coz its really difficult to find a solution unless there is COMPROMISE from both sides. Now I don’t think the Eelam fighters would compromise for anything less than a separate nation. As for the GOSL, I think if there is to be solution for this issue, it has to come from them.

Now I have this strange or you may even call weird idea to solve this issue. Now nothing comes in this world without a price. So what Iam suggesting is, I know there is a huge, I mean a real huge Eelam Tamils across the globe and if they can donate a considerable amount of their fortune and make it a real big sum ( may be say 50 Bn US$) and start negotiating with GOSL for a separate Eelam. I know many True Tamils would be jumping on me asking why we should pay to get back what was ours. But please do think for a second, you have been fighting them for almost 3 decades and the amount of money, energy, human life you put all these years has gone drain most time. So may be its time to try out some other strategy and Iam sure the crores and crores of Tamils in TN would also be ready to contribute ( but don’t expect much the TN politicians ) to help you gain your homeland. Now why don’t we give this a chance?

Let’s pray that we hear only crackers sound and no more gun fires in the island nation.

P.S: This idea’s inspiration is the trading game which we play when we were kids, buying the towns, states and countries.

Cheers!

Why I hate chennai Rain!?

When i was in bangalore, i was just wishing and praying all my fav gods & lucky charms that i should settle down in chennai ASAP. And i was lucky enough as my prayers were answered within a year. But the happiness lived exactly for a year and quarter. Today i really felt why i ever landed here and after seeing all the rain, rain, rain and more rain.

I do have heard of Chennai's water problems earlier but this one was completely unheard of. Today most of the busiest roads in T.Nagar, Nungambakkam were completely submersed and had knee deep water. Right from the time i left home in the morning i have been wet all day! :( It was water was just following me like the good old hutch (now vodafone) dog. And to my misery more rains are predicted. Just remains me of Vivek's Thannila kandam!!

My dear god, once more iam praying to you. Now wait, iam not asking you to relocate me, please...... pleaseeeeeee stop this drain rain atleast till deepavali. If this is answered i promise i will not raise another request for next fortnight.

C U tomorrow! :(

The day of inevitables:

None of the games followers of my generation have seen the Australian cricket team lose so badly in a test match. May be this is the beginning of more such instances as I really don’t see a mix of overaged and raw bunch fighting a raging bull head-on. After the second test, I would give a 3 – 0 score line to the Indians incase there is no divine intervention in form of rain/fog.

Another inevitable happened in Mumbai.Yeah iam referring to the arrest of Raj Thackeray. People like him need to be either kept in mental asylums or Zoo’s or in prisons or else there wouldn’t be a country called India in near future. May be few more of the Thackeray genre need to be taken care to make sure India and Indian states are safe. Happy advance diwali to Maharastra.

I have been hearing the songs of Varanam Aiyaram since a week and at last I started liking them. My pick of the album is Yethi Yethi... Hope the film is also as good as the songs. And iam betting something on the movie here (there is still a week’s time for the release), my gut prediction is the movie may do good in A centers but iam predicting only an average run in B&C and I feel even Gautham has the same feeling (or else why will a Ghana/Kuthu find its place in this album)

Before I hit the sack, I heard India is on the verge of sending its first unmanned spacecaraft to Moon. Sincerely hope and pray that the mission is truly successful and even if its unsuccessful I would still be proud and happy coz I know that we wont be duping the world like the Americans when they claimed Neil Armstrong had walked, jumped and ran in the moon. :P

Cheers, C U tomorrow. :)
